COMING SOON!

The problem for anyone new to business is how to identify the wisdom hidden amongst all of the information that's available. What do you really need to think about when starting a new business? In 2003, the Business for Starters programme was tested with 142 new business owners. And we mean really tested: intensive research about the needs of business owners in the planning stage, at the business launch, as they got to grips with running their business and then as they planned for growth. And, from nearly 2,500 conversations, we found them the answers to their questions as they arose. All of which really made a difference.

That was back in 2003. Now we've taken everything that made a difference, combined it with the answers to questions that business owners asked and distilled it into this book that explains how to start a successful business. It's all taken a lot of work - which probably explains why we can't find anyone else who has done this. But it does mean that we can say, with confidence, that if you want to start a successful business then this book can really help.

Written by Professor Russell Smith, this book also includes case studies of businesses featured in his page on small business matters for "The Independent". But despite its academic pedigree, don't expect this book to be boring… for example, where else will you find everything you need to know about business finance explained with just a fried egg sandwich?
